  A. New Evidence
2. The Rabe-Bemis Diving Expedition in August 2000

2.3.4 The starboard front bulkhead - Page 18

In summary the following can be concluded:

(1) There has been another very powerful explosion in the void space below B-deck. For details reference is made to Chapter 32.2, pages 1102 ff. of our Report.

(2) There are strong indications that the bow ramp had been opened and subsequently closed by force, during which operation the hook of the manual lock of the visor has been used to tighten wires and/or other mechanical means for opening and closing of the ramp and/or the pulling of whatever objects out of the car deck.

(3) The explosion damage at the lower part of the front bulkhead and its consequences for the behaviour of the visor have been explained in detail in Chapter 29.3 pages 781 ff., 813 ff. and in Chapter 32.2. pages 1102 ff. of our Report. These explanations are confirmed by the new evidence.

(4) Due to the fact that the lower part of the outer longitudinal girder of the bow ramp has been bent upwards, the adjacent part of the recess bulkhead became visible and it was now revealed, that it was also cracked. This had been assumed but could not be proven by the footage available from 1994 and 1996.
