  A. New Evidence
2. The Rabe-Bemis Diving Expedition in August 2000

2.3.5 The port front bulkhead - Page 8

Pointer 6
This is also demonstrated by the damage to the visor – see the two pictures below - showing the outside (left) and the inside (right) of the port aft bulkhead in way of the pocket for the locating horn at the port front bulkhead of the vessel.

Pointer 7
The possible explosive charge at the recess.

Reference is made in this respect to Chapter 32, pages 1100 ff., of our Report where the history of the detecting of this orange coloured cube is explained in detail. In the meantime, however, clearer images processed by better equipment have been obtained which shall be explained on the following pages and which do allow the conclusion that the suspect explosive charge – the orange coloured cube – was not at this location when the wreck was officially inspected by ROV on 02.10.94. The image below shows the situation on 02.10.94. The recess is visible down to the opening for the bow ramp actuator, but there is nothing.

This image from 09.10.94 shows the same area, however there is a cube attached to the recess bulkhead probably by means of a magnet plate according to Brian Braidwood – see pages 1100 ff. of our Report.
