This area has already been explained in detail in Chapter 29.2, pages 799 ff. of our Report. Therefore only changes in comparison to the previous condition as demonstrated by the video footage from 1994 and 1996 and better pictures shall be shown and explained. The following drawing shows the area under investigation, however again without bow ramp as otherwise relevant parts of the inner longitudinal and the recess bulkhead would not be visible.

The drawing on the following page is based on the footage produced by the divers in August 2000. It shows previously existing conditions in greater detail as well as changes in comparison to these conditions. The areas of special interest are marked by the arrows 1-7 which are demonstrated in detail by images and corresponding text on the following pages.
