On 29.08.00 the divers Thomas Leidenberger and Hubert Hubal did cut off two metal samples from the damaged part of the upper starboard front bulkhead. These two samples are shown on the photo documentation on the following pages.

1. to be in place marked I and II
2. to be cut off marked I and II
3. as brought up by the divers
4. after having been brought ashore.

Both divers have subsequently declared under oath before the notary public Dr. Peter Anmüller of Garmisch-Partenkirchen to have cut off the samples I and II from the wreck and to have handed them over to Jutta Rabe. The respective document is attached as Enclosure 1. The burning work of the divers is demonstrated by the image on the next page.
